Instnt Print

The bridge

It sits between the printer and your network, draws about as much power as a phone charger, and has no moving parts. Plug it in once and forget it's there.

A small always-on device that connects USB receipt and label printers to your network and to the print API.

What it does on its own

Recognises the printer

Reads model, serial and USB id, then picks the driver. You don't select a driver anywhere.

Holds the connection open

An outbound websocket that reconnects by itself. No inbound ports, no firewall rules, no VPN.

Keeps printing offline

Its own server answers on the local network, so the till beside it keeps working when the internet doesn't.

Updates itself

New firmware arrives over the air. If a version can't reach the server, it rolls back to the one that could.
